Jonna's Story
Attended Grossmont College and after college worked in various jobs.
I married Ken Waite who grew up in Mission Hills and attended San Diego High School. We have lived in a variety of homes in San Diego and El Cajon and spent a short time in Sacramento.
We have two children: Gabriel, 45, and Adrienne, 40.
Both attended Granite Hills.
For several years I was a stay-at-home mom and spent many years as a volunteer and then went to work for Cajon Valley Union School District, primarily as a school office manager and then as an administrative secretary. I retired in 2007 after 20 years.
We lived next door to my childhood home for 12 years and then moved in with my mother in 1997 and lived there for 18 years. My parents purchased the historic 1898 JPR Hall house in 1959.
Ken and I purchased a travel trailer so that we could explore the United States and we have made 3 month-long (or longer) trips, so far, in addition to some short desert camping trips.

wo wire-hair dachshunds named Skippy and Scooter. They were standins for grandchildren but that all changed in February 2010 with the arrival of our first grandson. Our granddaughter arrived in late September; it was a banner year!
I went away - somewhat - and came back. The old neighborhood was a great place to raise children and dogs.
My daughter lives locally in Santee with her family and my son and his family currently reside in Encinitas. My grandson is taking skateboarding lessons at Kennedy Park!
Four years ago we sold the old house and moved to Julian. Such a difference but I continue to volunteer as a way to stay busy and keep my mind active.
I have gotten interested in adopting senior dogs. Our doxie Wally, who was 5 when we got him, lived to be 14. I adopted a Briard mix who was 13 and we gave her a good life for a year. We adopted a 10 year old Doxie/Terrier mix this past year. We still have doxie Scooter, 13, Tippie cat, 13, and Hemi cat, 3. All rescues except Scooter.
